

The Client: Vox Media / Mountain Dew

IVS worked with Vox Media for their client Thrillist/Mountain Dew for a vending machine campaign. The machines were set-up for select weekends in various cities throughout the US. During the campaign, the guests would be prompted to scan a QR code from their phone, which would then prompt them to input data on their phone, as well as opt in to promotions. From there, they would then receive a text with a unique code to input on the vending machine touchscreen. Once at the machine, the guest would then enter their unique code, which would unlock the touchscreen and allow them to spin the Mountain Dew slot machine game on the touchscreen. The spin would reveal what flavor of Mountain Dew they won, from Baja Blast to the original Mountain Dew. Each flavor corresponded to a different prize they could win. With Baja Blast, they may win a frisbee, but with the original Mountain Dew, they would win a duffel bag full of travel essentials and, for some lucky winners, even a grand prize trip.
