“ALDS Game #3 Between Royals & AL Wild Card Winner to Air Exclusively on MLB Network” from Salina Post

MLBNetworkLogoOctober 6, 2015 – MLB Network will exclusively televise Game Two of the American League Division Series featuring the Texas Rangers at Toronto Blue Jays with Bob Costas, Jim Kaat, Harold Reynolds and Ken Rosenthal on the call this Friday, October 9 at 12:30 p.m. ET, live from Rogers Centre. Matt Vasgersian, John Smoltz and Jon Paul Morosi will be on the game call for MLB Network’s exclusive telecast of Game Three of the ALDS on Sunday, October 11 at 4:00 p.m. ET between the Kansas City Royals and the winner of the AL Wild Card game between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees. The game will also be available nationwide and in each club’s home TV territory on MLB Network. 2015 marks the fourth consecutive year that MLB Network will exclusively televise two Division Series games. MLB Network’s two game telecasts will be presented by Geico.

In each game telecast, MLB Network will employ Statcast powered by Amazon Web Services, MLB Advanced Media’s revolutionary tracking technology, as well as the innovative real-time defensive alignment graphic Shift Trax and PITCHf/x, to provide live and in-depth metrics about every play. MLB Network’s ALDS game telecasts will also feature enhanced audio at each base, plus Phantom and X-Mo camera technology to provide dramatically increased resolution and clarity to replays.

Just-retired San Francisco Giants reliever Jeremy Affeldt, 13-year MLB veteran Jason Grilli and Major League coach Bo Porter will serve as guest studio analysts on MLB Network during the 2015 Postseason. Three-time World Series champion Affeldt will be the first guest analyst to visit Studio 3, with a three-night stint on MLB Network’s Emmy Award-winning MLB Tonight from today, October 6 through Thursday, October 8. Atlanta Braves reliever Grilli, who’s appeared in three Postseasons since 2006, will join MLB Tonight this Sunday, October 11 and Monday, October 12. Braves third base coach and former Astros manager Porter is scheduled to appear in-studio during the LCS from October 19-21.

MLB Network will air nearly 200 hours of live coverage of the 2015 Postseason, including game previews, highlights, analysis, interviews and press conferences across all studio programming. MLB Tonight will air before and after every Postseason game with reporters including Scott Braun, Peter Gammons, Ken Rosenthal, Sam Ryan, Lauren Shehadi, Heidi Watney and Matt Yallof on-site at each ballpark. The song “Victorious” by multi-platinum selling recording artist Panic! At The Disco will be featured in all studio programming on MLB Network throughout the Postseason. A specialty piece commemorating each club’s appearance in the League Division Series will feature the music of Frank Sinatra, while The Arcs, Avicii, John Newman and Of Monsters and Men will be used to highlight Postseason coverage.

From October 8-11, MLB Network will engage local fans in each U.S. ALDS city with the chance to win game tickets and other prizes with a Twitter Vending Machine, in partnership with FS1 and Innovative Vending Solutions. Throughout the month of October, MLB Network’s social media platforms will use the hashtag #WeKnowPostseason to look back at significant moments from the Postseason careers of its on-air analysts, including Eric Byrnes, Mark DeRosa, Cliff Floyd, Al Leiter, Pedro Martinez, Kevin Millar, Mike Lowell, Carlos Pena and John Smoltz. Highlights of game footage and clips from new interviews with MLB Network’s analysts reminiscing about their Postseason success will be featured throughout the campaign.
